Hungarian customs for washing dishes to oral hygiene – after several years addressing Hungarian food and tradition, this column now moves on to peasant customs surrounding personal hygiene and household cleanliness. After eating, the next step is cleaning up, including related hygienic practices such as washing hands and brushing teeth. This series (and also a book edited by Juhász Katalin) comes out of a 2006 exhibition at the open air village museum in Szentendre, Hungary.
