My memories of our Bimbó út flat – by Vargyas Lajos’s son.Vargyas Gábor’s speech at the unveiling of the plaque at the Vargyas family home at Bimbó út 4. in Budapest. Vargyas Gábor grew up here. He relates personal memories of his father and family life and important visitors. He briefly describes the interesting circumstances of how his family ended up living in that location. The extended family lived there for 37 years – from 1945 til 1982. His parents’s room functioned as living room, their vast library, study and bedroom. Amongst many guests that visited them at Bimbó út 4. were: Andrásfalvay Bertalan, Martin György, Kallós Zoltán, Csoóri Sándor, Kovács Sándor, Donáth Ferenc. By ethnographer, cultural anthropologist Vargyas Gábor (b. 1952).
