Zenei ősöm: Tersánszky Józsi Jenő
Sebő tells the story of Hungarian writer Tersánszky Józsi Jenő (Nagybánya, Romania 1888 – Budapest 1969) who in 1939 referred to himself as the ‘writer who had become a musical clown’. Tersánszky wrote, and sang his own texts and accompanied himself. He performed Hungarian texts and translated texts for Slovak, German and Romanian melodies. Coincidentally, in 1969 the year Tersánszky died, Sebő and Halmos performed in the “Röpülj, páva!” televised folk song competition – they accompanied themselves on guitar and sang Romanian, Gypsy, Austrian, Slovak and Serbian folk songs. Their performance was very successful. Sebő found out about Tersánszky only after the fact, and offers this story as a kind of confession that he and Halmos were not the first…. By Sebő Ferenc.
