The recently published Népművészeti Jelentés [Folk Arts Report] provides a summary of research on the social, economical and cultural importance of Hungarian folk arts. It is the result of work done by the Hungarian Heritage House, under the direction of Both Miklós. Printed here in folkMAGazin is some part of the 4th chapter of the report discussing the results of "Csoóri Sándor Program". The Csoóri Program, since it began in 2017, supports the efforts of Hungarian organizations – both in Hungary and outside it’s borders – involved in preserving traditions, building communities, strengthening identity and passing on folk knowledge while also improving access to culture and building a professional network. The report is the result of quantitative and qualitative research and provides a detailed presentation of the results of the Csoóri Program. Special attention is given to defining community and folk culture, the history of the revival movement, developing digital archives and international contacts; and presenting efforts in community building. The report emphasizes the continued importance of institutional support for long-term maintainence and monitoring of the Csoóri Program. Along with evaluation and assessment the Report also hopes to contribute to future strategies and decisions for preserving and developing Hungarian folk culture, while encouraging professional discussion. The entire report can be downloaded via the Hungarian Heritage House website: (https://hagyomanyokhaza.hu/hu/nepmuveszeti-jelentes-2025)
