Borbély Jolán (Hajdúszoboszló, 1928. May 21.– Budapest, 2018. March 21.) Prima, Bessenyei György and Martin award winning ethnographic researcher, teacher. From its start, she participated in forming the mentality and technical background for the dance house movement. In addition to her work at the Institute of Culture, she was an active advisor and supporter of the ‘local tradition preserving groups’ movement. Up to the last year of her life she participated in public activities and maintained daily contact with dancers, musicians, folk artists, leaders of both movements. May she rest in peace.
